Norwalk Store, Riverbank, Stanislaus Co., San Joaquin Valley, CA Newly-built Norwalk store and trading center in the community of Riverbank in the San Joaquin Valley. Riverbank, with about 70 families, was located near a large tomato cannery. The Blackwood family who are building and operate the store came from Clay County, Arkansas. Photo taken in 1940.
Ansel Adams: Oak Tree Sunrise. There are times I have to drive to the San Joaquin valley for work and to get there I drive through the Pacheco Pass on my way to the farm fields. It is here that I have found groves of trees that resemble the one shown here. One of these days I'm going to get out of my truck with my old Pentax camera and take this shot.

San Joaquin Valley- Near Fresno CA. There are over 200 food processing plants in the area. Crops include cotton, pecans, walnuts, pistachios, Oranges to name a few. I seem to always be there in October when the nut harvest begins. All the beauty is covered in dust! A beautiful area, not far from the Sequoia Forest.
