This area of the house is still a work in progress, but it has came a long way. I love how all the whites, natural wood, and blacks looks together.
We really wanted to replace this fireplace surround. It was a dark brown and stuck in the 80’s. Instead, during Spring Break I decided to white wash the brick, paint the surround to match my kitchen cabinets, and refreshed the wood burning firplace with a heat resistant black paint. The outcome was worth it. Surround color- Sherwin Williams “Alabaster”
My favorite color is blue and this blue gives me all the vintage, but elegant farmhouse vibes. I love it! Thanks to my husband’s aunt who gave us the dining table set and sideboard. It was a cherry brown, but I chalk painted it a few years ago. This look doesnt have to be expensive. Handme downs, facebook marketplace, and TJ Max are great ways to acheive your farmhouse look.
I wish a had a before picture. Sadly, I don’t. These doors are to die for! I painted all of our interior doors this way and I wouldn’t change a thing. I do want to add, this color is not a true black. It has brown and purple undertones to match the floor. Wall color- Sherwin Williams “Repose Gray” Door color- Sherwin Williams “Caviar”
This door was a pain to paint, but it turned out lovely leading into the kitchen. #farmhousenavy
Instead of replacing, I decided to paint and give this light fixture a nice refresh. It turned out nicely. Be sure to use a #matteblack if you don’t want it to be shiny.
