We really wanted to replace this fireplace surround. It was a dark brown and stuck in the 80’s. Instead, during Spring Break I decided to white wash the brick, paint the surround to match my kitchen cabinets, and refreshed the wood burning firplace with a heat resistant black paint. The outcome was worth it. My favorite color is blue and this blue gives me all the vintage, but elegant farmhouse vibes. I love it! Thanks to my husband’s aunt who gave us the dining table set and sideboard. It was a cherry brown, but I chalk painted it a few years ago. This look doesnt have to be expensive. Handme downs, facebook marketplace, and TJ Max are great ways to acheive your farmhouse look. I do want to add, this color is not a true black. It has brown and purple undertones to match the floor.
