Wood Bed: Build It | The Accent Piece
A couple weeks ago, some friends of ours tore up an old deck in their backyard and offered the old wood to us. We jumped at the chance and came home with this loot. (Thanks, friends!) After throwing around a couple ideas of what to do with the wood,

Hi everyone! Welcome to you all. Today is the first of May. A month with mothers day and my birthday. For the last several years one of the places I like to go (after a brunch) is to a local iris farm. Row after row of all kinds of blooming iris. My mother always had irises in our garden. I came across P.J. Redoute` volumes of botanical prints at my favorite online library https://archive.org/ I was first introduced to Redoute by a dear friend who was planning a rose garden. She had a book…

"The days may come, the days may go, But still the hands of memory weave The blissful dreams of long ago." ~George Cooper 1877 Today was the last day of August and I found myself wishing that it would never end. It isn't that I don't like fall or that I expect that tomorrow summer will be gone for good - I have just loved summer this year and really would rather it stayed an extra month! Instead the leaves are starting to change colors already. Oh well - here are a few pictures I have taken…
~Sweet Scents in the Bedroom~

I always enjoy adding fresh flowers to my home this time of year and especially to my bedroom. My favorite combination to add to the trophies on both nightstands is eucalyptus and carnations. They not only smell wonderful together, but both will last quite a bit longer than most blooms. Enjoy! xoxo K. The sun was shining so…

One wonderful way to display vintage and antique plates is on a wall. Judy Coggins has done a marvelous job arranging her collection in a guest bedroom. One very nice feature is that the wall color serves as a soft background for the porcelain.
I am in LOVE.....
with my handy husband... and this HEADBOARD!! I have been drooling over this head board for like ever and wishing I could find a way to talk my husband into making it with me. I am pretty savvy in the tool area but our OLDER THEN DIRT hand held jigsaw is a little too sketchy for me. This is where the hubsters comes in.. he can man handle that thing in ways I can not:) We have an abundance of old barn wood out in the middle of the field behind our house and he agreed to take a trip out there…
