IT WAS SEPT. 1964 AND I HAD JUST TURNED 15. IT WAS DARK OUTSIDE AND I WAS ALONE IN THE HOUSE. BOTH MY PARENTS WERE OUT. I WAS IN THE DINING ROOM NEXT TO THE LIVING ROOM JUST PAUSING LONG ENOUGH TO REFLECT. SUDDENLY, I HEARD THIS VERY DEEP SEATED, VERY DEEP AND HUSKY GROWL UNDER OR NEAR THE TWO LIVING ROOM WINDOWS. I BECAME INSTANTLY TERRIFIED. I ONLY HEARD IT ONCE AND I WASN'T ABOUT TO GO OUTSIDE TO INVESTIGATE WHERE THAT HORRIFYING SOUND CAME FROM.
I did not see this film just because of Hugh Jackman. I love the story. The Knights of the Holy Order, stationed at the Vatican, dispatch Gabriel Van Helsing, who has amnesia, to kill Dracula. He is given a torn piece of paper with an insignia on it. But there's a link between Gabriel and Dracula... There's talk of Tom Cruise taking on the role in a second film. Although Cruise was brilliant in Interview With a Vampire, I think his 'Mission Impossible' roles might get in the way. Let's see...
