The Victorian era of British history was the period of Queen Victoria's reign from 20 June 1837 until her death on 22 January 1901. The Victorian era spanned 64 years and is divided into 3 major periods, The Early Victorian Period, or Romantic Period,spanning 1837-1860; the Mid or High Victorian Period, also known as the Grand Period spanning 1860-1885; and the Late Victorian Period, or Aesthetic Period spanning 1885-1901.~~~~ ~~~ This board was inspired by my love of the Victorian Era.

Another Patek Philippe timepiece owned by Queen Victoria was worn by her Royal Majesty pinned to her clothing. It suspended from a diamond and enamel brooch. The timepiece executed in yellow gold incorporated elegant Breguet-style hands showing the hours and minutes in a really clean manner. Jean-Andrien Philippe patented the brooch-style timepiece in April 1845 in Paris.

Feodora of Leiningen, daughter of Victoria, Duchess of Kent by her first marriage, and so Queen Victoria's half-sister. Married Ernst, Prince of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, and had 6 children: Carl Ludwig II, Princess Elise, Hermann, Victor, Adelheid, and Feodora.
Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, was the 4th son of King George III and the father of Queen Victoria.

Princess Marie Louise Victoire, of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. She was the mother of Queen Victoria. Victoria's father - Edward, the Duke of Kent and Strathearn - was her second husband, and Victoria was her third child (and her only child with Edward). She was a member of the House of Hanover as well as a member of the House of Saxe-Coburg Gotha.

On the death of William IV,Queen Victoria aged 18 acceded to the throne on this day 20th June, 1837. Her reign of 63 years and 7 months is currently longer than that of any other British monarch and the longest of any female monarch in history. At the time of her accession, the government was led by the Whig prime minister Lord Melbourne, who at once became a powerful influence on the Queen, who relied on him for advice Charles Greville supposed that the widowed and childless Melbourne was "passionately fond of her as he might be of his daughter if he had one", and Victoria probably saw him as a father figure. Her coronation took place on 28 June 1838, and she became the first sovereign to take up residence at Buckingham Palace.
