Duck Duck Sing Review Game - The Painters Wife

Feel like getting a little rowdy in Primary? Here’s a fun review game for you: modeled after the game “Duck, Duck, Goose!” This is “Duck, Duck, SING!” Now first, I played this with a fairly small group…Sr primary was about 10 kids so we just did a huge circle and everyone played. Handbells

Look what came in the mail the other day! I bought the 13 Note Chromatic set from Amazon.com Click on the picture above for a direct link to Amazon.com My grandkids and I have had a blast playing with them. I'm using them for the Primary to sing in Sacrament Meeting. We are doing the song: Christmas Bells. Because this is their first time using bells I decided to do chords with the bells instead of the melody. It's much easier. Plus, my Primary already knows this song well. If you look at…

Mystery Mom Motivation!

Mystery Mom Motivation This is just a quick activity to help motivate singing, and keep the interest up during repetitions! I took a picture of two mothers from our ward. One for Senior, and one for junior. I cropped the pictures, and printed them out as an 8x10, so it was just a portrait picture. (You can print an 8x10 or 8x12 at Costco for $1.50!) I may or may not use this picture frame, but cut out puzzle pieces to cover up the picture. As the kids sing and master different phrases to a…

Erupting Cups Singing Time Review Game - (A Popular One!)

I highly recommend this Singing Time activity the next time you want to do a song review. The children (and teachers!) seemed to really love it last week. This was one of my favorite Singing Time activities to date because everyone seemed to enjoy themselves so much, and because participation was so high. In fact, I had one primary counselor comment to me that it was the perfect activity for that day because the children had seemed so restless; they needed something exciting that day. The…

When Joseph Went to Bethlehem

Music Source: Children's Songbook - 38 https://www.lds.org/music/library/childrens-songbook/when-joseph-went-to-bethlehem?lang=eng&_r=1 Special Instructions: This song is a little tricky because the 3rd verse is different than the first two. It's shorter but still the same up until the last two measures of the verse. The last two measures of the verse are the same as the last two measures of the first two verses. Essentially the third verse skips several measures of music. To put this skip…
