Making predictions is a great strategy to use for comprehension of narrative texts. Predicting allows students to draw on background knowledge, supply details, and determine whether their prediction was correct at the end of the passage. FRI Strategy Anchor Charts

Strategy #1: Predicting So I've searched pinterest and teacher blogs for inspiring anchor chart ideas. I finally found a few that I wanted to recreate. The first story of our reading series is Arthur's Reading Race by Marc Brown and I thought why not create a prediction chart tailored to the story? I am very pleased with the end result and I intend on laminating these charts and passing out post-it notes to my students so that they can contribute predictions in the designated squares.

Make predictions about how the video will end and talk about the lesson learned or moral of the story. Before reading, a great resource for practicing predictions.
