It is estimated that 75% of the emotions we experience on a daily basis are impacted by scents around us. This is unique amongst other senses due to how smell is interpreted by the brain. Aromas have been shown to evoke emotion and provoke feelings of well-being due to their direct pathway to the amygdala. As you go about your day notice how the aromas around you impact how you FEEL. Our sense of smell is like a trained muscle and the more we use it, the stronger it gets. You will begin to notice smells in your environment, start forming connections and begin to notice how they are making you feel. Seek out the aromas that make you feel calm, happy, and uplifted. Knowing this, we should be intentionally using our sense of smell more. 🌿
