Week spent cruising in a canal boat on the Kennet & Avon Canal, near Bath, England

Kennet and Avon Canal - Bath

This lovely canal on the eastern edge of Bath is not even on many of the city maps, so it is not generally visited by tourists. They are missing a beautiful waterway that is only a short walk from the town center. We watched a couple of narrowboats (working boats built in the 18th to 20th centuries for carrying goods and now converted into homes, both holiday and permanent) pass through the two locks in this section of the canal. The old lock house is now a rental cottage, so all the work…
