Goblin Shark | When people say they're scared of sharks I was like ok w/e just stay out of the water and sharks won't be that scary. At the time, I didn't know about their cousin they keep in the basement. NOW I'm like Oh Yeah I'm afraid I'm very afraid!  This shark makes all the other sharks look like guppies!    ~Imelda

Er gehört zu den Barten-Drachenfischen (Stomiidae). Seine fast schwarze Haut ist schuppenlos. Mit seinen Leuchtorganen, der zur Angel umgestalteten Bartel und den langen Zähnen entspricht er dem Klischee des "typischen" Tiefsee-Fisches.

deep-sea anglerfish. Jaw and body does not move when it swims, but jaw can detach and stomach can extend. Fish moves from side to side to swim. Highlight its WEIRDNESS. I don't think it matters that it's a female. Use light fixture to taunt. Sometimes it falls down, gets in the way.

Giant isopods (pictured)— can grow to 16 inches (41 centimeters) and have compound eyes that are extremely sensitive to low light levels. Light bounces off a reflective layer at the back of the eyes called the tapetum, making the eyes appear to glow.
