This is a rubric we created to use as a way to measure the progress of an entire speech and language caseload. It can be used for all students regardless of age, severity or disability. It is rating a students' communication skills in the GENERAL EDUCATION environment and how their impairment is affecting progress. We rated every student in the 3 categories (Skill Level, Assistance, and Effect) and used that score to give them a "total impact score". We then made a chart using Google or Excel (see thumbnail example) to show how many of our kids were in each category in the Fall and how many were in each category in the Spring. Our SLO was: By the end of the X school year, at least 90% of the students on the speech and language caseload will improve their ability to effectively communicate with teachers and peers in the general education setting by an increase in their total score on the CSIR by at least 2 points.
