Complex Sentences Worksheet (Subordinating Conjunctions)

I work with a lot of high school students who have grammar-based language objectives ("formulate complete sentences"; "use increasingly more complex sentences"; "use subordinating conjunctions"...etc). This can be a difficult and abstract concept to teach AND to learn, so I created this worksheet to help break down the process. Students will learn how to identify independent and dependent clauses and to find the subordinating conjunction in each sentence. In addition to helping teach complex sentence building, these exercises mirror the types of standardized test items students may be evaluated with in the future and can therefore provide a framework for success!
