Canada, Vintage Coin Earrings -- Canada Day -- Maple Leaves - Penny - 1 Cent - Travel Gifts - Canadian Money - Lucky Penny Earrings - OOAK
The maple leaf is a proud and distinctive Canadian symbol. On February 15, 1965, the 11-point, red-maple leaf flag was inaugurated as the National Flag of Canada. Yet, maple leaves have been minted on Canadian coins as early as 1876.
In 2013, the Royal Canadian Mint ceased minting the 1 cent coin. The estimated savings for taxpayers from phasing out the penny is $11 million a year. Whew ~that's a lot of pennies!
These vintage 1-cent coins were authentic, circulated currency. They have deep, rich patinas and some beauty marks. The coins are made of a copper alloy, and are about the size of a US penny.
☆ These are my 'stock photos'. The actual coins you will receive are of the same design and condition, though, possibly varied vintage years. Photos are larger than actual size. Please carefully review the description.
The Swarovski crystals are deep-red in color, and suspended in gold-plated frames.
The earwires are made of surgical steel, soft-gray in color and hypoallergenic.
The earrings are about 1-5/8 inches in length, from the top curves of the earwires to the bottom edges of the coins.
--> As always, feel free to ask any questions - even the "silly" ones!
