Born October 10th 1925 in Matanzas, Cuba,  Francisco Aguabella became a well-known percussionist. His music was dedicated to afro-cuban traditions and folklore music. He used what is called a Batá drum. Much of his music is well known for its Santeria/Lukumi themes. Aquabella died in 2010 but his music remains an important artifact throughout the diaspora.
