Difference Between Melanoma and Carcinoma

(Photo : Wikimedia Creative Commons) A photograph of a skin melanoma. Researchers have found that a hearty population of melanoma cells resistant to drugs can become susceptible if also treated with a diabetes drug.

The DNA Replication Complex, an assembly of proteins that synthesizes new DNA before cell division. It consists of Helicase, Primase, Single-strand binding proteins, and DNA polymerase III. Because DNA strands can only be copied in one direction, the complex must pull out loops of one strand and replicate it in fragments. At this moment there are hundreds of trillions of these molecular machines in constant activity within your body. Video Credit: Drew Barry

Golgi apparatus of eukaryotic cells functions in protein synthesis. I loved my molecular biology class and love this photo. Now, how to incorporate cell structure and cellular functions for my class?

Calcium phosphate crystals which are used in dental materials for remineralisation of teeth following loss of minerals caused by bacterial acid -

Plaque attack: Close up images of teeth reveal what lives in your mouth

What a beautiful image of a calcium phosphate crystal, the stuff that makes up your tooth enamel.

breast cancer cells! Why are they my favorite colors! Not liking this at all!

breast cancer cells - I hate you

"The Lone Ranger"- Kupffer cell (specialized macrophage, green) patrolling the tiny vessels in the liver called sinusoids, where they recycle old red blood cells and ingest pathogens. The endothelium (reddish pink) of these vessels has large holes, allowing the Kupffer cells to migrate into the liver tissue at sites of damage and inflammation.

Candida Yeast Overgrowth has been linked to thousands of health issues and it wreaking havoc on nearly every one. Keeping this regulated is critical.

SEM of Candida Albicans yeast cells. albicans is a single-celled fungus that is commonly found on the skin, mucous membranes of the mouth, digestive & respiratory tracts, and vagina, where it is usually harmless

Developing nerve cells...I just cannot get over the marvel of the making of our bodies...

Developing nerve cells Torsten Wittmann, University of California, San Francisco These developing mouse nerve cells have a nucleus (yellow).

Colored SEM of a cervical cancer cell. This large rounded cell has an uneven surface with many cytoplasmic projections, which may enable it to be motile.
