Scribble Doodle and Draw: use paint baggies to practice printing letters, sight words, spelling words, etc. so many ways! --I like the addition of the qtip as the writing tool for fine motor practice!

This idea was orignially used to teach site words but it would be great as a fun reinforcement for articulation. Say "the" 10x and then trace it in the sand as you say it.  All you need is a pencil box, pencil, and some sand. (Getting the sand could be tough;).

Counting is so important, that we wanted to let you guys in on some fantastic activities that didn't make it into story time. This is the Number Writing Salt Tray Game, which is a great idea for kids to practice number recognition and writing skills.

Sight word spelling

Sight Word building with letter beads. Write the words on jumbo craft sticks, then provide kids with a letter bead box and pipe cleaners. Easy peasy and good for fine motor skills.

Abc center: matching uppercase and lower case letters.  Peg board, elastics, print out of corresponding letters. Focus: Matching upper and lowercase letters.
