mix it up - Hmmm, fun idea! Have the kids each create a separate Twinchie for a head, body and legs/feet, then swap two parts with other students. Mount new parts and display. Similar to the Exquisite Corpse. Good for collaboration also. Maybe even create a background to mount their new "creature" upon.

Interesting spider webs.  Here is how it was done.  First they drew the spider web using white oil pastels on white paper and then  painted  the whole page with  blue water color. The wash made the web highly visible.  Next, they traced/cut circles for the spider’s head and body.   For the final touch, they used a cardboard edge dipped in black paint for the legs.

This is a project that I found in a magazine about 8 years ago. I adapted it for my young crafters and have used it over and over in my classes. Its a crowd pleaser. Boys are especially fond of this project.  My spider is made from a 7 black plastic plate, has posterboard legs, foam teeth and wiggle eyes. It can be assembled without using scissors, glue or paint. The front and back halves of the plate form a pocket when they are stuck together. Its a great place to tuck a little candy or…
