Map of places and actions in The Tempest

This map accompanied the program for a production of Shakespeare’s The Tempest on the campus of Queens University of Charlotte.

This character map, provided by CliffsNotes shows the relationships between all of the characters in The Tempest. It is easy to see that all of the characters are connected to Prospero who can easily be considered the most powerful character in the play. All of the plotlines in the play relate to Prospero, and with his magic he is able to control many of the characters. With this simple visual, it is easy to see that the play revolves around Prospero. -Jessica Krausnick

Prospero is in the centre of the action and he is the one who is controlling it all behind the scenes. This fact remains unknown to the majority of the other characters, many of whom are just pieces in his chess game.
