This is a very tiny comet. In fact this is Rosetta's Comet and we recently landed a probe on it as it flew through space. This is what Rosetta's Comet looks like when compared to the city of Los Angeles, California.
The space shuttle Endeavour, perched atop a specially-modified NASA 747 jet, approaches Los Angeles International Airport last week. The retired spacecraft will be towed to its new home at the California Science Center.
Thor's Helmet: this object, also known as NGC lies in the constellation of Canis Major (The Great Dog). The helmet-shaped nebula is around 15 000 light-years away from Earth and is over 30 light-years across.
Astronomer Nick Howes used the Tzec Maun Network to obtain this gorgeous image of Comet Lovejoy on Jan. The image was taken using the TOA 150 telescope and SBIG CCD at the Siding Spring Observatory in Australia.
