It’s non toxic! (And allergy friendly) Many (most) laundry soaps on the market are full of synthetic fragrance and toxins that are designed to stay in the fabric of your clothes forever 🤢 When those are always in your clothing fabric, it can easily leach those toxins into your skin (and kids skin) 2. It’s cheaper than most detergents - each load comes out to just cents when you do the math here. 3. It’s easy to make! 4. You can customize your scent. My favorite combo is lavender, peppermint and rosemary (be careful with using citrus scents on dyer balls as they have a lower combustion rate. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on our smell. I also love how the essential oils have many benefits other than just smelling amazing. 5. It cleans very well. Each ingredient in this recipe has a specific thing that it does to help clean your clothing, such as cleaning (duh), deodorizing and is color safe. Adding vinegar to the rinse cycle even helps repel pet hair. What do you think? Is this something you do or would try? Recipe : combine all together and store in an air tight container. Add 2-3 Tbs directly to drum before clothes 2 cups baking soda 2 cups washing soda 2 cups borax 2 bars finely shredded or grated Castile soap ~50 drops essential oils (my fav combo is peppermint, lavender and rosemary- we get compliments all the time about how we smell!) Add the same oils to your dryer balls for extra scent! . #laundry #nontoxicliving #cleanliving #naturallaundry #cleanhome #nontoxichome #homemadehome #homesteading #homemaker | Kenzie Staheli | Facebook
