'Constant Lambert' (composer and pianist) by Christopher Wood, 1926. (Serge Diaghliev of the Ballet Russes invited Wood to design the sets for a production of Romeo & Juliet in 1926. Lambert, Wood's friend, was to compose the music and he came to live in the artist's Parisian studio. The mercurial Diaghliev eventually decided not to use Wood's designs.
