The Schlegel's asity is a species of bird in the Philepittidae family. It is endemic to Madagascar. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests and subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.

The Turquoise-Browed Motmot inhabits Central America from SE Mexico (mostly the Yucatán Peninsula) to Costa Rica, where it is common and not considered threatened. It lives in fairly open habitats such as forest edge, gallery forest and scrubland. Its call is nasal, croaking and far-carrying. This Motmot is a well-known bird in its range and has been chosen as the national bird of both El Salvador and Nicaragua.

This is one variety of the Black-and-Yellow Broadbill. They range in color from black and yellow to black with some yellow and some pink and then some are just black and pink, like this beauty! They do all have the bright blue bill, however.
