Nurse's Dress c.1919  cotton  Worn by Julia D.S. Snow (Greenfield, Mass.).  U.S. involvement in WWI began when Snow was 26 years old.  She seems to have been fascinated by the war - taking photographs of soldiers off to war.  She joined the war effort as one of the 18,000 plus women from the US who served as nurses in the American Red Cross's nursing corps.  Memorial Hall
