Bocage Plantation is a historic plantation located on Louisiana Highway along the River Road, in Darrow, Ascension Parish, on the east bank of the Mississippi River (but on a meander that puts it north and west of the river). Built 1801 and rebuilt in
Emma Plantation is near Donaldson, Louisiana. Charles Kock owned St. Emma and Alliance Plantation. In the Fall of 1862 around 465 Union Soldiers were killed when Confederates were quartered in the Sugar Cane houses.
Charleston - The Palmer House was built in 1848 by John Ravenel, whose son designed the "Little David" the first semi-submersible vessel and the forerunner to the submarine. Now a bed & breakfast by generation.
