The jousting armor of Dr. Tobias Capwell, scholar and warrior. A unique armour in the English style, circa 1440 - made of hardened and tempered medium carbon steel with rich gilt ornamentation and gilt chain maille.

Armor made for Dr. Tobias Capwell by armor smith Robert MacPherson. In the style of  1440-1460 England, based on an effigy from about the 1450s. It is a beautifully tailored second skin designed to protect him while jousting or (with a different helmet) in foot combat. I think this really shows how scary plate armour could be, even unarmed he looks like he could take on an army.
