Since we were studying layout i thought it would be good to post a pin on this. This macbeth poster represents several themes: ambition because the skull has a crown as a mouth, power because of the crown and death because of the skull. The colors play a major role because red is the color of blood/evil and black of night/darnkess and we know that blood and darkness are important images.

"Coraline" by Neil Gaiman, illustration by Karl James Mountford - I enjoy this type of illustration, however, it seems that everyone nowadays is doing this stylistic kind of drawing and I honestly think that it can be way too flat a lot of the time.
