One of my favorite pastimes in an urban landscape is to hunt for graffiti. ("Melbourne / urban / graffiti art / street photography" by CubaGallery)

#2. Graffiti is something most all people consider art today, but would not have been during the Renaissance. Graffiti is considered street art and during the Renaissance, they would not have gone through their streets and painted random things. Their work was more sculpture-like and structured; more of a beautiful and classic theme.

In this beautifully colored shot the light/dark sky seems to twirl around the towers of this abandoned building and the graffiti on the structures’ walls comes to life in the half-light.

I love the graffiti being so bright in the half light. The dark clouds swirling around this abandoned building really help to draw your focus to the tower.

The graffiti Mecca of the WORLD. I visited 5 Pointz a week before it was shut down and a few weeks after the warehouse was white-washed. There are not many things that take my breath away, but this place did.
