Height - Interestingly, on a true vertical log plot, I think the Eiffel Tower's sides really would be straight lines. Another fine chart from xkcd.

Galaxy-it looks like a portal to a place that's fascinating. Or it could be a ship that transports stars. Or it could be a hula hoop that an item in space likes to jump through as an activity.

Galaxy NGC 4594 Sombrero Galaxy): approximately 26 million light years from Earth, in the constellation Virgo, it is considered a "nearby" galaxy.

#Yellowballs in our #MilkyWay! Volunteers using the web-based Milky Way Project brought star-forming features nicknamed "yellowballs" to the attention of researchers, who later showed that they are a phase of massive star formation. The yellow balls -- which are several hundred to thousands times the size of our solar system -- are pictured here in the center of this image of the W33 star forming region taken by NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope.

Our solar system to scale

Earth, is the third planet from left. Pictures like these always get me. It's crazy because of the stars that exists that are so much bigger than our Sun, that in comparison is like if it was the size of the Earth!

A monster black hole that appears to be the most massive found to date, (2011) as massive as 21 billion suns. This is one of two black holes found in elliptical galaxies some 300 million light years away — both believed to be the biggest yet. A black hole occurs when gravity causes an object to collapse under its own weight to a point, creating an object that is fantastically small, yet tremendously dense. .

Hickson Compact Group 92, taken from Nasa's Hubble Space Telescope. Otherwise known as Stephan's Quintet, refers to a group of five galaxies.

The portrait of Stephan's Quintet, also known as Hickson Compact Group was taken by the new aboard NASA's HST as one of the first images since its May 2009 overhaul. Stephan's Quintet, as the name implies, is a group of five galaxies.
