Heaviside’s dolphins (Cephalorhynchus heavisidii) are endemic to the coastal waters of southwestern Africa. The lack of information from Namibian waters limits the ability to manage threats to the population, including marine tourism, harbor expansion and large-scale mining projects. "The white-beaked dolphin (Lagenorhynchus albirostris) is a large and very robust dolphin, with a short rounded beak and a tall, falcate dorsal fin.

The Maui Dolphin, aka popoto or Hobbit dolphin (Cephalorhynchus hectori maui), is found only off the west coast of New Zealand's North Island.  It is the smallest dolphin.  In 2012 there were an estimated 55 left in the wild.  In 2004, it was 100.  NZ authorities reject taking measures to save it.  Another one bites the dust.
