521-Nice, shiny specimen of brown and colorless crystals of aragonite. The specimen weighs 133 grams and measures approximately 60mm X 45mm X 33mm. This material comes from the area around Tazouta, in the middle of the Atlas Mountains. The aragonite specimens are made up of dozens of pseudohexagons that are radiating from a common center that form round to oblong clusters. The crystals are 6 sided with flat terminations. They usually come out of the ground as a mudball, with only some of their terminations showing. The reddish brown color of the crystals is caused from inclusions of iron oxides. This specimen is in nice condition and is self standing.
