a person writing on a piece of paper with the words start a magazine below it
Start a Magazine
Take your script and make a magazine out of it. It doesn’t have to look exactly like Rave Scripts but it has to feature your writing to build a following for your screenplay. How does this help you sell your screenplay? Well, Hollywood likes money. #screenplaygoals #screenplaygenius #screenplayidea #screenplayjobs #screenplayjury #screenplayking

Start a Podcast
Starting a podcast works in the same way a youtube channel does. The idea is to get people to like you first in order to get them interested in what you created. I imagine most screenwriters are more introverted than extroverted. A podcast allows you to hide your ugly mug (kidding) and speak about various topics in anonymity. #screenplaykindle #screenplaylife #screenplaylessons #screenplaymemes #screenplaymovie #screenplaymagazine
an old typewriter with the words scam printed on it and text that reads so when crafting your story
So when crafting your story
So when crafting your story, make sure there’s an A plot and B plot. You want to make it so that the B plot complicates the A plot. If Marty didn’t get his parents together, he couldn’t have gotten back to 1985 because his very existence would have ceased right there in 1955. Following the structure of Back To The Future helped me in spades by getting the second act to be as compelling as the first. #screenplaygoals #screenplaygenius #screenplayidea #screenplayjobs #screenplayjury

In Back To The Future
In Back To The Future, the first plot is about Marty accidentally being transported back to 1955 and he has to get back to 1985. The second plot is about his mom falling in love with him and Marty having to get his parents together so that it doesn’t ruin future events like him being born. Emulating Back To The Future helped because that second script I wrote had both an A plot and B plot. #screenplaykindle #screenplaylife #screenplaylessons #screenplaymemes #screenplaymovie

I eventually moved on to writing my second script.
I eventually moved on to writing my second script. The high I felt from completing my first propelled me through the second script and I ended up finishing it quicker than the first. The second script took influence from one of my favorite movies, Back To the Future. This is when my screenwriting method began to shape out and I started to understand how to write a story. #screenplay #screenplays #screenplaywriter #screenplayproductions #screenplayed #ascreenplaybook

When I first started writing films
When I first started writing films, I chose to write a futuristic space adventure. Guess which movie I chose to help craft my script around; Yup, Star Wars. Honestly, I’m not even a big Star Wars fan, but I chose to use it because it’s impact on pop culture and the movie industry is undeniable and I respect what George Lucas created. #screenplaykindle #screenplaylife #screenplaylessons #screenplaymemes #screenplaymovie #screenplaymagazine

Artists should be wise about their creations and how they handle them
Artists should be wise about their creations and how they handle them. 1 major reason not to sell to Hollywood could be that you lose ownership of it and if you sell at the property’s lowest value, it could hurt you in the long run. #screenplaygoals #screenplaygenius #screenplayidea #screenplayjobs #screenplayjury #screenplayking

As of right now, he gets nothing and he can’t use the property at all
As of right now, he gets nothing and he can’t use the property at all. It’s almost like he never created the cartoon to begin with. Had he built value for the property, and Cartoon Network didn’t comply to his demands, he could have walked away and he could be still working on the property to this very day with many revenue streams attached to it. #screenplaykindle #screenplaylife #screenplaylessons #screenplaymemes #screenplaymovie #screenplaymagazine

At the time of Krstic making Megas XLR
At the time of Krstic making Megas XLR, it would have been maybe 2003 so he didn’t really have social media or youtube to work with building value behind his cartoon and I don’t think there were crowdfunding platforms yet. With that said, he still could have done other things to build value for his property like making a comic out of it. #screenplay #screenplays #screenplaywriter #screenplayproductions #screenplayed #ascreenplaybook
an old typewriter with the words, how is this a shock to anybody?
Now is this a shock to anybody
Now is this a shock to anybody? No, not at all. However, was this the only fate that he had to face in regard to his cartoon? No. George Krstic made a mistake all those years ago. I don’t blame him considering the time period, but it was a mistake none the less because he did have options. The mistake he made was that he sold his property at its lowest value. #screenplaygoals #screenplaygenius #screenplayidea #screenplayjobs #screenplayjury #screenplayking #screenplaykindle

Submitted for your approval or at least your analysis: one George Krstic, who at the demand of fans that enjoyed his short lived cartoon, Megas XLR, had to let them down by informing them that he can’t do anything with the property that he created because he doesn’t own it. #screenplaylife #screenplaylessons #screenplaymemes #screenplaymovie #screenplaymagazine

It’s every writer’s dream to write a script and sell it to Hollywood
It’s every writer’s dream to write a script and sell it to Hollywood. As writers, we cling to the hope that once we sell it, we’ll make a fortune, live the high life, and all will be right in the world. Unfortunately, that’s far from reality. In some cases selling it can be the worst thing you can do especially if it’s done at the wrong time. #screenplay #screenplays #screenplaywriter #screenplayproductions #screenplayed #ascreenplaybook
someone writing on a piece of paper with the words every writer from quentin tarantino
Get Feedback
Every writer from Quentin Tarantino, Christopher Nolan to Steven Spielberg needs feedback. As writers, we can never see our own work for what it really is. Our sight is blocked by our own bias for our own creation. We need criticism from other in order to make our work better. It doesn’t matter who reads your script as long as you’re getting feedback. #screenplaydialogue #screenplaygoals #screenplaygenius #screenplayidea #screenplayjobs #screenplayjury #screenplayking #screenplaykindle
