Matthew Williamson

Collection by Debbie Kriegh

The luxury fashion house, Matthew Williamson, was founded in February 1997 by Williamson and Joseph Velosa. In 1997, Williamson showed his debut collection, 'Electric Angels', during London Fashion Week. Bias-cut dresses and separates in exotic shades of tangerine, fuchsia and magenta were worn by models Kate Moss, Helena Christensen and Jade Jagger. This peculiar collection of bright, intricately detailed pieces defined and set the pace for the highly recognisable Williamson aesthetic.

Coral Feather and bead-embellished silk-chiffon dress | Matthew Williamson

Matthew Williamson's elaborate silk-chiffon dress is a flight of fashion fancy. A bright papaya hue and tribal-inspired pattern of glass beads, leather sequins and ostrich feathers take this statement piece into an exotic territory that is right on trend. Guaranteed to make the most fabulous entrance, this runway style demands to be center stage, so keep accessories minimal and neutral. Shown here with: Oscar de la Renta earrings, Kenneth Jay Lane ring, Alaïa shoes, Jimmy Choo bag.
