South Carolina Low Country Nature Journaling and Art: A Walk in the Woods

A Walk in the Woods

With muck boots on, off I went into the woods that flank the east side of our home. We always have deer in our front and back yard. I wanted to see where they live. This is a good time of year to traverse the woods.... no bugs to speak of and that particular morning was cool enough that I didn't think any snakes would be out. I photographed the page-in-process as I sat beside the marsh watching a few Little Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets feeding. All in all, a delightful Sunday morning walk…

"Everyday in March I painted a swatch of the weather." Great inspiration for diy postcards.

New Snow

Snow ALL day yesterday, which gave me permission to do lots of indoor filing & organizing (yes, I went away from the "art door", see previous post, thanks for sharing your experiences with that, really helpful.) The view out the window at 7AM this morning was startling. At first glance it seemed all white, but upon slower observation: so much color! Morning light & shadows change so quickly, I LOVE their drama. I've been avoiding observing the outdoors, kind of fighting with the reality of…

Great for all little memorys, like feathers, small stones or flowers, exampels of gift wrap of your last birthday etc. Like it!
