Classroom rules poster
I use these Whole Brain Teaching attention getters on a daily basis with my ELL students. These attention getters are a great way to improve your classroom management. I usually pick one or two to teach the class at the beginning of the year. Then every month or every few weeks, I introduce a new attention getter, which my students can't wait for!!
This 5 minute video would be an excellent lesson starter or quick reminder to your students of what respect should look like. The first two minutes videos a common classroom scenario of disrespect, while the last three minutes shows a well-done rap/music video by a class of older elementary students and their teacher.
This PDF file contains posters for Marzano-Check for Understanding. There are page sized posters and 4 to a page posters. Also included are small ones to place on students desks or tables. During a lesson in the classroom, kids need to take frequent breaks due to their short attention span. Giving them "brain breaks", either during or after a lesson can really benefit a classroom by helping students stay focused. Gets the kids up and moving for a short amount of time and then back on task. -Kayla Gavigan
