Croydon North End inc WOOLWORTHS
Since 1950 North End has been the prime shopping street in Croydon. This road was most likely a Roman Road and was part of the A23 london to Brighton Rd before the Purley Way was built. The road was restricted to buses cycles and taxis and the council seemed unable to complete the pedestrianization. The bus drivers were unhappy as the shoppers wandered into the road.
