The method of "wild fermentation" relies on naturally-occurring yeast and bacteria that are already present on and within the plant that you are fermenting. A starter is not necessary when using this fermentation method. Quality sea salt (non-iodized) and distilled water are still needed to optimize the fermentation process. Give it a try!
