I found this little oak washstand at an estate sale. The finish on the top needed some TLC and the base needed something to brighten it up a bit. For this piece, I chose MMS Milk Paint Bergere. This piece only needed 2 coats, then I distressed it by just running my sandpaper over the finish. I Hemp Oiled the top and then sealed the base with Clear Furniture Wax. #milkpaint Furniture Wax, Blue Painted Furniture

After applying 2 coats of Miss Mustard Seed’s Trophy, the antique cupboard was ready to have a top coat. To help me decide which topcoat to use, I consulted the owner of the cupboard. I asked her how hard she uses this piece and how often. She said she mostly kept dishes underneath and a few decorations on top, so that equates to medium-level use.
