Polar bear cubs emerge from their mother's den for the first time
Photographer Vince Burton captured a mother polar bear with her two cubs in Canada. At around three months old, the small bears still need their mother to keep them warm and provide food.
Legend passed down by Inuit hunters - Polar Bears cover their nose when hunting to avoid detection. This has not been observed by researchers. Since we were the only prey in sight I am happy to report this bear was not hunting. Arctic NWR, Alaska 10/5/14
