Shell Sunrise
Queensland, AustraliaLiving on the beach at Holloways affords me the luxury of awakening to a spectacular painted sky every morning. I never tire of it, and love to capture the different moods of its beguiling backdrop. I lay down on the sand and framed this shell in the foreground as the dawn show intensified. I shot a series of exposures using a slow shutter speed, and as the waves flowed gently over the shell it added a misty effect. 10 Artist Proof / 100 Limited Edition

Ghost Gum
Northern Territory, AustraliaIn the arid surrounds of Standley Chasm stands this lone ghost gum. Clinging tenuously to its perch, it juts out of the side of a narrow gorge at an amazing angle. The Chrysler
Manhattan, New YorkI could publish an entire book just on this one iconic building. I took thousands of shots from hundreds of angles and they all looked so different. I chose hard light for this high contrast black and white to crank up the detail. I wanted the hard lines of the crown to really pop and jump off…

Bamboo Forest
Maui, HawaiiAs I was walking through the bamboo forest on the Pipiwai Trail, in Hana, Maui, I was fascinated by the bamboo canopy. I thought a vertical shot would turn out great and I picked a section with unreal colour variance, as most of the bamboo forest was green. 45 Artist Proof / 950 Limited Edition

Turning Time
Horseshoe Bend, ArizonaThe power of American landscapes constantly amazes me. Deep in the ancient lands of the southwest, this classic scene had to be captured at the magic moment. I had camped out for seven days in Page, Arizona, waiting for the right light. I had made a pilgrimage to this radical edge many times, but was unhappy with the results. This grand scene needed that special lighting. On day eight, Mother Nature revealed her glory. I stood in awe right on the edge of the…
