Canada - Sunmark - O-Pee-Chee - Sweetarts foil candy package - 1970's 1980's
Here's a beauty I've never come across before, a vintage foil Sweetarts package - this one still full. Though it's a Canadian release, licensed from Sunmark by Canadian candy giant O-Pee-Chee, it's still a beauty. This is pretty much what Sweetarts packages looked like in the U.S. in the 1970's, though, in Canada I suspect this style was used well into the 1980's, but that's educated speculation on my part. Also of note, this package is still sealed, and contains all of its' candy.

What you see below, is the same image, but with me trying to make it look like a real wrapper and aged. I know what you're thinking? "So, you took a beat up image online, cleaned it up, only to…

Elephant No. 285: The Droste Effect
I came across this technique a few weeks ago, and thought it would be fun to try for today's elephant. The Droste effect is named for an image on packages of Droste cocoa powder. The image featured a nurse carrying a tray of hot chocolate, which also bore a box of Droste cocoa, on which the nurse was, of course, was depicted carrying a box of Droste cocoa, featuring an image of herself carrying a box of cocoa powder, and so on to infinity. The image was first introduced in 1904, and lasted…
1986 BBQ Chicken bag
I was lucky enough to find someone who saved a bunch of the old Hostess Chip bags from the seventies to early eighties...all foil bags except for one...in half decent shape considering their age....this one is the only one not foil and features a contest with the old Montreal Expos and Toronto Blue Jays....
