DIY Thrift Store Desk Makeover (Using Silver Leaf!)

Less Is More | Centsational Style

A DIY Blogger's Guide to Paint Products That Work!

And so, I finally came up with a plan using this... Got 4 of…

cheese dome cloche - a thrifted cheese dome (cloche+board) and candlestick combined make a charming stand. I really like the hand-piped lettering; it's wall-fix, spray painted after it set.

Embossed Cheese Dome Cloche - frou•fru•gal: [froo-froo-'GAL]

Late last summer I saw a cheese dome cloche made by the wonderful Allison at House of Hepworths. Not too long after that, I came upon my own Goodwill cheese dome and thought I’d give it a whirl. I started with a basic cheese dome …

DIY elegant candle holders using goodwill candle holders that were painted an ugly rust brown. Spray painted them in metallic silver and then painted over that with a charcoal grey craft paint. Scratched off the craft paint in various areas to let the metallic silver show through. Total cost was $5!
