Stonewall riots were spontaneous, violent demonstrations led by two trans-women of color Sylvia Rivera and Marsha P. Johnson against a police raid that took place in the early morning hours of June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn, located in Greenwich Village, New York City. Celebrating how hard people fought and how strong they stood and how unwaveringly they spoke - for all of us - is worth celebrating.
