ROTJ: This photo-realistic matte painting of the Ewok tree village was created for ROTJ. Originally, Lucas had planned on an epic battle involving Wookiees pitted against the Imperial forces. In the end, budget constraints shrunk those savage Wookies into a race of teddy bear sized Ewoks.
