Originally introduced by the ancient Egyptians, the Greeks organized the four humors and adapted them for medical and psychological classification. The choices you make will determine if you are phlegmatic, choleric, sanguine, or melancholic according to this ancient Greek diagnostic technique?

Melancholic personality traits are associated with serotonin activity, that is why these men and women are calm and self-confident. Their happiness depends on family, friends and other social ties.

Restless and spontaneous Sanguines enjoy love to the fullest. Their constant cravings for adventure and novelty are the major motivating force behind their actions, decisions and choices.

Understanding you and your child's temperaments can help with parenting. For example, melancholic children respond well to fairy tales describing hardships. The phlegmatic child likes comfort, to be kept warm, and delicious food. Sanguine children respond well to calm parenting but enjoy social situations. Choleric children like to be leaders and you may find letting them be in charge of tasks helps to give them direction.

Supine would be "strong-willed" only in the sense of enforcing someone else's decisions, and is only "unemotional" in the sense of hiding them.
