Last May, i rented a 500mm lens to shoot the Atlantis Space Shuttle - and on the way home I wanted to "use" it, so we pulled into the WPB zoo. Never again. Never again will I rent a 15LB lens! He weighed too much for me to handle - mounted even, I could not carry it around or use it comfortably. My D700 with my 70-200 is about as much weight as I want to carry comfortably. I commend you folks that can carry around those lenses, because you are getting the shot!

During my trip in Denmark, I also went to one of the zoo of the country, the Aalborg zoo, which is a nice one actually! :) Here is a black spider monkey taken there.

Nicaraguan spider monkey

Spider monkeys (of several species) live in the tropical rain forests of Central and South America and occur as far north as Mexico. These New World primates are social and gather in groups of up to two- or three-dozen animals. At night, these groups split up into smaller sleeping parties of a half dozen or fewer. Foraging also occurs in smaller groups, and is usually most intense early in the day.
