One of the two principles underlying Kibbe’s body type theory is the principle of Yin and Yang - the principle that everything exists in inseparable and contradictory opposites. Yin manifests in curved lines, round edges, flowing silhouettes, hourglass figures, fitted waists, rounded shapes, swirls, curves, and circles. Yang is characterised by strong vertical lines, sharp edges, stiff, smooth silhouettes, elongated outlines, geometric shapes, rectangles, and triangles.
