Shaker Cabinet Door versus Recessed Cabinet Door

Shaker and recessed cabinet doors are very similar, but they have a distinct difference. Shaker cabinet doors use cope and stick construction which creates the 90 degree angle with a vertical seam. This style provides a modern and clean look. A regular recessed panel cabinet door uses mitered construction which creates the 90 degree angle with a diagonal seam. This style is more traditional. Shaker cabinet doors are a type of recessed door, but not all recessed doors are shaker.
