It allows students to have artistic freedom when creating their sand art designs and they get to work with many different types of art materials they have likely never before used. I appreciate that the teacher that shared this lesson posted several pictures of the sand art creation process as well as suggestions for ensuring the project goes smoothly.

This project is made with acrylic paint and sand paper. Make sure that the sky is completely painted in. Use a decent paint brush that is flat and a little firm. The castle can be made with simple shapes. After all it's made of sand.
