"Eugene Onegin", is a lyrical opera by Tchaikovsky which I saw at the beautiful Mariinsky Theatre, St Petersburg in July 2016. The Set Designer Igor Ivanov designed an amazing, wonderful set. The audience applauded when the ballroom scene was revealed. It was sensational which can be seen in this photo. Sung in Russian with English surtitles, the music moved me so much that I'm getting the score. As an oboist I loved the inclusion of woodwinds in the music.
