The video of this precious police dog has millions of views across social media, and we understand why: the dog runs in, nudges the officer, and then jumps up and down on his partner's chest and puts his head down to see if the officer is breathing.

Law enforcement agencies typically purchase K-9s from trainers or dealers who acquire them from Europe, where legacy blood lines have been long established. Breeds most commonly used for detection and apprehension include the Belgian Malonois, German Shepherd, Dutch Shepherd, and a variety of Labradors.
